TEL has selected a highly-reputed group of companies in its supply chain, naturally experts in their specialist fields and wherever possible with direct practical experience in the subsea environment. TEL’s principal contractors are listed in alphabetical order as follows:
- ARR Ltd
ARR Ltd has over 45 years of academic and industrial experience in the marine energy sector. Based in Belfast and Worthing, ARR has provided the systems integration and data management solution for TEL's DeltaStream project.
- Designcraft Ltd
Designcraft Ltd has over 20 years’ experience designing and constructing turbine blades for the renewables industry. Based in Southampton, the company has designed and built DeltaStream’s turbine rotor blades.
- GE Energy
GE Energy designs leading technology solutions for the delivery, management, conversion and optimisation of electrical power. Based in Rugby, GE has designed and built DeltaStream’s electrical power system.
- Hydac Technology Ltd
Hydac Technology Ltd supplies fluid technology, hydraulic and electronic equipment. With offices in the UK and Germany, Hydac has been involved in the design and build of DeltaStream’s yaw mechanism.
- Hyder Consulting (UK) Ltd
Based in Cardiff, Hyder Consulting (UK) Ltd designed the onshore equipment for the Ramsey Sound Project and is also providing CDM expertise. In September 2015, the company changed its name to Arcadis Consulting (UK) Ltd.
- JDR Cable Systems
UK based JDR Cable Systems, a leading provider of subsea power cables to the global offshore energy industry, provided the subsea cabling for the Ramsey Sound project.
- Mainstay Marine Solutions Ltd
World class boat building and ship repair company, Mainstay Marine Solutions Ltd (formerly Mustang Marine (UK) Ltd), built and assembled TEL’s DeltaStream device at its facilities in Pembroke Port.
- Mojo Maritime Ltd
Leading tidal energy marine operations contractor Mojo Maritime Ltd led the installation of the first Welsh tidal energy generator in Ramsey Sound, Pembrokeshire in December 2015.
- Raymond Brown Construction
Raymond Brown Construction Ltd is a leading civil engineering company based in Bridgend and is responsible for the Ramsey Sound project’s onshore works.
- Siemens Mechanical Drives
Siemens Mechanical Drives, which assembles and services gear units and geared motors, has supplied TEL with DeltaStream’s gear hub.
- SMRU Marine
SMRU Marine, based in St Andrews, provides TEL with expert marine mammal science and advice.
